About the Tournament
Inaugurated 2026.
Built to last.
The DeGroote MBA Golf Tournament is a student-led initiative designed to become the program’s flagship alumni event. An annual reason for graduates, faculty, and current students to return to the same course each August.

Our story
Why we started this.
The DeGroote MBA Golf Tournament was founded in 2026 by five current MBA students who saw an opportunity to create something the program had never had. A signature annual event that brings together every corner of the DeGroote MBA community.
Alumni, current students, and faculty rarely have the chance to connect outside of classrooms and formal events. This tournament changes that. Set on a premier ClubLink course in Burlington, Ontario, the event combines competitive golf with genuine networking and a seated dinner where the entire field comes together.
It is not-for-profit. Any surplus is reinvested into future student programming through the DeGroote MBA Association.
The vision is simple: build an annual tradition that strengthens the DeGroote network, one round at a time.
Why golf?
Four hours.
Uninterrupted.
Golf has long been the sport of business networking. It offers four-plus hours of uninterrupted conversation in a relaxed setting. No conference panel or cocktail hour can replicate that.
For MBA students, the round is a chance to build real relationships with the alumni and professionals who shape their careers. For alumni, it is a meaningful way to give back without giving a speech. For faculty, it is a rare window into who their students become.
